Todd Boehly could now sell Chelsea forward who only joined in 2023

Chelsea and Todd Boehly could now sell an attacking player who they signed just last year, as the west Londoners look to trim Enzo Maresca's squad, bolster his transfer kitty and back their new manager with fresh faces.

Players who Chelsea could sell this summer

In a boost for co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, who are set to oversee Chelsea's recruitment drive in the next few weeks, it is now believed they do not have to sell players by June 30.

The consensus was that Chelsea were under pressure to agree sales by that date, or risk sanctions, as doubts surrounded their ability to adhere to PSR's limit of making a £105 million loss over a rolling three-year period.

Sky Sports recently claimed that Chelsea don't need to sell players this month to comply with PSR, and will instead need to sell for the 2024/2025 cut off next year, but there is plenty of time before that deadline.

While this comes as good news, there are still many members of Maresca's squad who could be shown the exit door. Indeed, Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Malang Sarr, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson and Conor Gallagher have all been named as players who Chelsea could sell this summer.

This comes as Fabrizio Romano says that Chelsea are set for a busy summer, and could bring in multiple key signings across many areas of the team.

"It will continue to be a busy summer at Chelsea," said Romano on Chelsea's transfer plans after bringing in Maresca to replace Pochettino.

"It won’t be completely crazy but they will try to make smart things happen, including a new goalkeeper and I expect them to try for at least one new centre-back, but it could be two. I also expect Chelsea to be busy with the striker position."

The Blues will need funding, as they look to comply with PSR for next year, certain players will need to be off the books. A potentially surprising new candidate for the exit door, though, is David Datro Fofana.

The Ivory Coast international only joined from Molde in January 2023, spending last season on loan at Burnley and scoring four goals in 15 appearances.

Fofana could now leave Chelsea this summer

According to The Athletic, Fofana could be on his way out of Chelsea this summer, and it is believed they wish to attract offers for the 21-year-old. The forward, despite impressing in parts during his time at Turf Moor, did attract some criticism from Vincent Kompany.

“He can still get better,” Kompany said of Fofana after a win over Brentford. “That’s what we want to do with him because he scored one but he could have scored two or three. For probably 45 minutes he gave us what we needed defensively, but the other 45 minutes he could have done more."

Tottenham offer Richarlison in swap deal bid for £120,000-per-week star

Tottenham have offered Richarlison in a player-plus-cash bid to sign one very highly-rated star this summer, coming as the former Everton star is tipped to potentially be sold in the coming weeks.

Spurs could sell Richarlison despite good form last season

The Brazil international endured a torrid debut campaign at N17 under former manager Antonio Conte, but did manage to display flashes of his best during Ange Postecoglou's first season in charge.

The 27-year-old, during a mid-season purple patch, scored nine goals in eight Premier League games from the middle of December to early February – displayed his best form in a Lilywhites jersey by quite some distance and attracting real praise.

“What I want is for Richy to keep improving, and keep developing his football and becoming a real force for us and we’ll see where that takes us," said Postecoglou on Richarlison earlier this year.

“Because as this year alone has shown us, whatever plans or designs I had about which kind of formation I was going to play and which players were going to play a part in that, that pretty much went out the window after the first 15 minutes at Brentford when [Cristian] Romero gets concussion and I’ve got to make a change.

“I’ve never thought in those terms. For me, it’s about trying to get players to fulfill their potential and with Richy I still think there is growth there. If it keeps growing, well, we the football club will be the beneficiaries of it.”

However, despite some glimpses of his real potential, doubts still linger over his suitability to lead the line moving forward. Richarlison has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, according to some reports, and it is believed Tottenham are open to selling for the right offer.

Spurs are also targeting a world-class replacement for Kane this summer, plunging Richarlison's future into further doubt, as any incoming forward would surely put the South American further down Postecoglou's pecking order.

Tottenham offer Richarlison plus cash for Alexander Isak

Now, according to Sky Sports Italia reporter and transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, it appears Spurs have attempted to kill two birds with one stone as they make a proposal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.

Indeed, Di Marzio writes this week that Tottenham have made a player-plus-cash bid for Isak which includes Richarlison. The £120,000-per-week Sweden international scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Magpies last season, so Eddie Howe's side are understandably reluctant to accept Spurs' offer, despite some pressure to sell players due to PSR.

Bringing Isak to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and getting Richarlison's £90,000-per-week salary off the books, could've been a masterful move by chairman Daniel Levy – but it appears they may have to return with an improved offer.

Arsenal desperate to keep "in-demand" gem as Bayern Munich push to sign him

Arsenal are working hard to stop an "in-demand" Gunners gem from leaving, as European heavyweights Bayern Munich push to steal him.

Players who could be sold by Arsenal this summer

So far, in terms of Arsenal exits, both Mohamed Elneny and defender Cedric Soares departed upon the expiry of their contracts late last month – with a few more players following them since then.

Real Madrid man's entourage urge him to leave as Arsenal make offer for him

Young striker Mika Biereth re-joined Austrian side Sturm Graz in a £4 million permanent deal last week, while both midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga and left-back Nuno Tavares moved elsewhere on loan.

Lokonga put pen to paper on a season-long stint at Sevilla, while Tavares signed a five-year contract at Lazio despite only joining on an initial temporary deal. The agreement includes a mandatory £7.5 million buyout clause, meaning the Portuguese will inevitably depart for good.

Many more squad members have been tipped to follow the likes of Lokonga and Tavares out of the Arsenal exit door, including some pretty big names. Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey, Aaron Ramsdale, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus and Kieran Tierney are other players who Arsenal could still sell this summer, according to various reports.

One man they're very keen to keep hold of, though, is highly-rated starlet Chido Obi-Martin.

Arsenal working hard to keep Obi-Martin as Bayern push

The 16-year-old has been in absolutely scintillating form at academy level, scoring 32 goals in just 18 league appearances for Arsenal's Under-18s last season.

His stellar performances have attracted attention from Europe's elite. Bayern Munich are pushing to sign Obi-Martin from Arsenal, but the Gunners are working hard and determined to keep him at the Emirates with a first professional contract the moment he turns 17.

That is according to journalist Charles Watts, who shared an update on Obi-Martin's future for CaughtOffside.

“Arsenal are working hard to try and keep Chido Obi Martin at the club,” Watts said.

“We’ve seen strong links to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund this summer, and it’s no secret that both German clubs are pushing to lure Arsenal’s bright young talent away after his exceptionally prolific form at youth level.

“But Arsenal remain in talks with Obi Martin’s camp and as far as I’m aware nothing has been decided yet when it comes to the striker’s future. Arsenal do not want to lose him and they have made that clear during recent talks. A first professional contract is on the table that could be signed the moment he turns 17.

“But he is not 17 until December and so Arsenal remain vulnerable to the in-demand striker leaving before then. They are hoping, however, that all the groundwork that has been done over the last few months will prove successful and he will stay and continue his development in North London.”

Colin Ingram signs new Glamorgan deal as overseas player

Glamorgan have announced that Colin Ingram has signed a two-year contract extension with the club as an overseas player after the cancellation of his Kolpak registration.Ingram has spent five seasons in Cardiff to date, playing as a local player throughout on a Kolpak deal. He did not play in 2020 due to international travel restrictions, and will return on an overseas deal next year with the end of the UK’s transition period with the European Union bringing an halt to the Kolpak era.Ingram has signed for the T20 Blast first and foremost, having dominated Glamorgan’s run-scoring charts in the competition since his debut in 2015. He fills the club’s second overseas spot in the Blast, after Marnus Labuschagne signed for all formats.ALSO READ: County ins and outs, 2020-21Glamorgan have also signed Labuschagne’s Queensland team-mate Michael Neser as their second overseas player for the County Championship and Royal London Cup, but Ingram will be available in those competitions should either Australian be called up for international duty.A Glamorgan press release said that Ingram, 35, would spend the full summer in Cardiff, and that he would become a mentor for academy batsmen and a pathway coach when not playing or training. As a result, it seems unlikely that he will take part in the IPL or the CPL next year.”Cardiff is where I want to be,” Ingram said. “I love playing here and my family love the city and being in Wales. I love playing T20 cricket, but I also want to challenge myself again in the longer formats of the game and I’m excited to have the opportunity to do that at the club I love.”I’ve always been passionate about helping the next generation of cricketers and it’s really exciting for me to work with these young Welsh players, help them improve and share some knowledge I’ve gained at the international and franchise level.”Mark Wallace, Glamorgan’s director of cricket, said: “He’s played around the world and brings invaluable experience to our players and now we are able to fully utilise these experiences across the pathway.”Colin’s got plenty of experience in all three formats and has excelled for Glamorgan across the last five years, and he’ll be a fantastic reserve option should he be needed in the longer formats of the game.”

Player wants to quit Leeds with Steinsson ready to take £18 million loss

Another Leeds United player is looking for a permanent new home away from Elland Road, with technical director Gretar Steinsson ready to take an £18 million loss on his sale.

Leeds pressured into summer sales

The most painful summer exit of this window, and by Leeds' own admission, was that of local sensation Archie Gray – who completed a £40 million move to Tottenham with Joe Rodon heading the other way for £10 million (Fabrizio Romano).

ByCharlie Smith Jul 4, 2024

The 18-year-old won over Whites supporters with a flurry of accomplished displays over 52 appearances in all competitions last season, with Leeds releasing a heartbroken statement after Gray's departure.

"Understanding the attraction of Premier League and European football, the club, with a heavy heart, agreed the transfer, but the move has strengthened the board’s resolve to ultimately return Leeds to a position where it can meet the footballing ambitions of even its brightest stars," wrote the club in a statement (via Ben Jacobs).

"Whilst we understand that supporters will be hugely disappointed to lose such a home-grown talent, and a family name so synonymous with Leeds United, the move improves the club’s chance to compete for automatic promotion next season by increasing our ability to build a competitive squad within the league’s financial control regulations.

"Everyone at Leeds United is heartbroken to see one of our own depart and would like to thank Archie for all his efforts and professionalism."

Alongside the highly-rated teenager, both Luis Sinisterra and Marc Roca have sealed permanent moves away from Yorkshire. The three major exits have helped raise £59 million in total for Daniel Farke's side, and these funds will work wonders to balance the books after Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

More look certain to follow the trio, with Crysencio Summerville attracting interest from elite English sides, as expected, following his 21-goal haul in all competitions for Leeds last season.

Meanwhile, USA international Brenden Aaronson, who completed a £28 million move to Leeds in 2022, could be on the move as well.

Aaronson wants to quit Leeds

The 23-year-old made 30 Bundesliga appearances on loan at Union Berlin last season, but the Germans cannot afford a permanent deal for him as things stand.

Leeds, led by technical director Steinsson, value the player at around £10 million, so they're ready to take an £18m loss off his sale this summer. Aaronson is ready to quit Leeds and find a permanent new home, but despite the £10m price tag, Union will still struggle to match it.

That is according to regional source Berliner Kurier, via Sport Witness, and it will be interesting to see if any club are willing to pay the asking price for Aaronson.

“He gets better every day,” said former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch during his tenure (via GOAL). “He's like a weed. You almost see him grow before your eyes. It's really amazing. He's a special young man.

"It's so much just about his ability to make final plays and slow himself down a little bit in the last third. He has more quality than people think. He's a good finisher, he's really clever with how to put passes together in tight spaces.”

Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr was expected to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or but missed out to Manchester City midfielder Rodri. The Brazilian believes his fight against racism cost him the prestigious prize and has sent out a defiant response after finishing in second place. Real Madrid fans, as well as players past and present, have all hit out after seeing Rodri pip Vinicius Jr to the Ballon d'Or, while France Football have attempted to explain why the Brazilian was not crowned the best male player in the world.

Real Madrid were beaten 4-0 by Barcelona in El Clasico last time out, with Vinicius Jr taunting Gavi during the match by claiming "on Monday I'm going for the Ballon d'Or." However, the forward did not even fly to Paris for the ceremony after Real Madrid learned beforehand that Rodri would win. Garcia says that Real Madrid were eager to know the result but denied telling Los Blancos who had finished first before the ceremony took place.

WHAT GARCIA SAID

Garcia said: "I can guarantee you that no one from City or Real Madrid knew, maybe they had a feeling. Maybe El Clásico didn’t help. I don’t know. It was close. Vinícius probably suffered from the presence of Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal in Top 5.

“Real Madrid put pressure on me to know if Vini won, and maybe my silence made them think Viní lost, so they didn't show up .I'm unpleasantly surprised, but I don't wanna spend the night talking about it, I want to talk about our winner, Rodri. All favorite clubs insisted on having the information of who won, they didn’t know, we made it very clear, this year, the winner will not be notified before.”

Bid submitted: Man Utd make £50m+ offer to sign £100k-p/w star for Ten Hag

Manchester United have made a £50m+ offer to sign a Premier League player for Erik ten Hag this summer, according to a new transfer claim.

Man Utd transfer news

The Red Devils are well aware of the importance of nailing their business in the current transfer window, following a disappointing season that saw a lack of quality on show, even though Ten Hag's side won the FA Cup.

Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee appears to be a primary candidate to join United currently, with the 23-year-old most likely to move to Old Trafford rather than anywhere else, according to one fresh report. He has a £34m release clause in his current deal, and could provide important competition for Rasmus Hojlund.

Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee

Chelsea and England ace Conor Gallagher has also been mentioned as an option to come in this summer, with the midfielder potentially leaving the Blues before the beginning of next season. United arguably need to look for more quality and energy in the middle of the park, with the likes of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen linked with exits.

Adrien Rabiot is another rumoured target for the Red Devils, with a free transfer possible due to his contract at Juventus expiring at the end of this month. He is considered an upgrade on Scott McTominay, as he continues to be a key man for France at Euro 2024.

Man Utd make offer for "terrific" ace

According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo [via Goodison News], Manchester United have made an offer to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer. The bid is believed to be worth £50.7m, with the Red Devils providing stern competition to Barcelona.

Amadou Onana for Everton

It is clear to see what attributes the Belgian would add to Ten Hag's midfield moving forward, proving capable of providing so much energy and quality in that area of the pitch.

Even though Everton struggled for much of last season, Onana still performed well more often than not, averaging 2.4 tackles per game in the Premier League. Sean Dyche has described the £100,000-per-week ace as "terrific", while Alan Shearer has said of him: "A tireless display against Arsenal. Ran himself into the ground."

At just 22 years of age, the Belgium international, currently at Euro 2024, is still a young player and could be viewed as someone who could be an excellent long-term partner for Kobbie Mainoo at the heart of United's midfield, dovetailing effectively with him for many years to come.

The chance to join United remains a huge lure for many players, considering their continued standing as arguably the biggest club in world football, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will hope that Onana wants to bring an end to his time in an Everton shirt, trading Goodison Park for Old Trafford in the process.

Aston Villa line up Euro 2024 star who’d be a dream next to Watkins

Aston Villa are preparing for a season of Champions League football after qualifying for the prestigious continental competition with a fourth-place Premier League finish last year.

Unai Emery has created a genuinely high-class outfit that will feel it has the wherewithal to forge another exciting year of football ahead, retaining their place at the top of the division and making an impression overseas.

Ian Maatsen (£37.5m)

Douglas Luiz (£42m)

Samuel Iling-Junior (£14.5m)

Tim Iroegbunam (£9m)

Enzo Barrenechea (£8m)

Morgan Sanson (£3m)

Lewis Dobbin (£10m)

Ross Barkley (£5m)

Despite selling Douglas Luiz to Juventus – a necessary evil to placate PSR – the Villans have made some exciting additions over the past few weeks, and there is more still to come.

Aston Villa transfer news

According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Aston Villa are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of Baris Alper Yilmaz, who enjoyed success with Turkey at Euro 2024.

It's believed that Villa and the Red Devils have already shown an interest in the versatile forward, but that offers from Spain, Italy and Frace are forthcoming. Emery and Co need to move quickly.

Especially given another report claims that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are moving for the €30m (£25m)-rated dynamo.

What Yilmaz would bring to Aston Villa

Ollie Watkins was crowned Aston Villa's Player of the Season last year after a truly exceptional campaign, plundering 27 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

For a rising star like Yilmaz, having the chance to play alongside such a player must leave him giddy, with the 24-year-old having made his name in his homeland but now attracting interest across Europe, having scored seven goals and supplied 12 more across all competitions last season.

He might not have notched a goal contribution at the Euros but Yilmaz certainly left his mark on the tournament, averaging one key pass, 1.6 dribbles and 5.8 successful duels per game, as per Sofascore.

Moreover, he's been described as "tremendous fun to watch playing football" by sports broadcaster Stephen Doyle, capable of bringing the spark to the Villa first team.

Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa

For such reasons, the Turk would prove to be a brilliant partner for Watkins, with his creativity and thorny presence for opponents opening up space for the free-scoring striker – who could also return the favour, having been the Premier League's top playmaker last term with 13 assists.

Watkins ranks among the top 3% of forwards across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for assists and maintains an intense and fluid approach to his forward play, something that could see an exciting partnership born.

Implementing another attacking talent with a range of different qualities could be advantageous to Villa as they look to compete across multiple high-stakes fronts next term.

They've got to get this one done.
