A torcida do São Paulo promete lotar as arquibancadas do Morumbi para o clássico decisivo do próximo sábado, contra o Palmeiras, pela 28ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. De acordo com o Tricolor, 36 mil ingressos foram vendidos para o Choque-Rei e ainda há entradas à venda nas bilheterias e também pela internet. Os valores variam de R$ 60 a R$ 240.

Os ingressos para o aguardado clássico são vendidos exclusivamente aos torcedores do Tricolor do Morumbi, já que por determinação da Secretaria de Segurança Pública do Estado de São Paulo os clássicos acontecem com torcida única desde abriel de 2016.

Os tricolores interessados em adquirir as entradas podem comprá-los nas bilheterias do Ginásio do Ibirapuera, Rua Javari, estádio Anacleto Campanella e no Morumbi. Pela internet, as vendas são feitas pelo site da Total Acesso.

For the third consecutive night in the SLPL, a brutal opening stand was the bedrock of a comfortable win as fifties to Aaron Finch and Gihan Rupasinghe helped Ruhuna Royals crush Uthura Rudras by 35 runs in a rain-curtailed 16-overs-a-side encounter. Finch made 65 and Rupasinghe 50 as the pair struck 11 fours and four sixes between them. Lasith Malinga’s 4 for 21 then ensured Uthura never looked like chasing down the revised target of 154 at any stage.Finch attacked from the outset, clobbering a straight four from the first ball of the innings, before launching a six two balls later in the same area. Rupasinghe was slower to the charge, but his was no less savage when it began. A four over extra cover and a six over midwicket heralded a slew of boundaries either side of the wicket, and though his innings could have been ended on 26 had Farveez Maharoof held a straightforward chance at short fine leg, he continued to make merry, reaching his-half century in 34 balls, before being undone by a surprise bouncer from spinner Jehan Mubarak. At his fall, Ruhuna were well-set for a big total, at 97 for 1 from 10.5 overs.Finch switched to consolidation mode after the wicket, passing 50 in 37 balls, with a busy Chamara Silva for company before the rains came. “What does Steve Smith do, exactly?”This question, having lingered over Australian cricket for several summers, appears finally to have been answered by the man himself.As he prepared to begin the domestic season with New South Wales against Western Australia in Perth on Sunday, Smith stated plainly that he now considers himself a batsman, intent on promotion in the Blues’ order and earning a place in the top six for Australia.Across five Tests, 32 ODIs and 20 Twenty20 matches for his country, Smith’s role has appeared hazy, even the subject of derision from opponents. He has been the lead spinner, an allrounder, a top six batsman then an allrounder again, all the time seeming to flounder without the “role clarity” Australia’s coach Mickey Arthur is so often seeking.On this year’s ODI tour of England, Smith made scores of 8 and 21 while bowling two overs, seeming more spare part than central component. Having also been taken to the UAE for the ODI series against Pakistan, 23-year-old Smith is aware he is close to the Australian team, and now appears to know that it is runs not wickets, that will keep him there.”Runs is my main priority at the moment, I’m working really hard on my batting,” Smith said. “I believe to get back into the team it’s through my batting, with my bowling there as well. But I think my batting it’s just getting the runs on the board and getting those runs is going to be crucial for me.”For me at the moment it’s me focusing on my batting, I think that’s what’s going to get me there in the near future. I’ve always got my spin bowling to add to my bow, and if I keep working on that as well it just gives them another option if they need it.”On the subject of where he would like to bat in the future, Smith said he wanted to move higher up than the No. 6 spot he has occasionally occupied for Australia. His place in the batting order was the cause of some conjecture among the selectors and Australia’s captain Ricky Ponting during the 2010-11 Ashes, when Smith spent two matches at six then went down to No. 7 for the final match in Sydney.”I’d like to bat higher [then No. 6], I’m trying to bat as high as I can in this order,” Smith said. “I think the higher you can bat in your Shield team, if you’re doing well there the better off you’re going to be for batting anywhere in the Test line-up or any of the line-ups. So that’s my main goal at the moment, to go out and score a lot of runs and hopefully contribute for NSW.”I ended last season pretty well with a few runs on some tough wickets, a couple of hundreds would’ve been nice, but runs are always good, and putting NSW in good positions this season is what I’m looking for as well. Hopefully we can do that, get a couple of early wins away and kick off that way.”The Blues begin their campaign with a visit to WA, the scene of a humiliating innings defeat last summer, when they were bowled out for 91 on day one then watched Liam Davis peel off a triple century. Smith took part in the match, and said the chance to return to the scene of the hiding was a welcome one.”It was a pretty average game for us, a lot of boys sat down together after that game,” he said. “Playing in Perth’s obviously a little bit different to playing over here. This time we’ve got to have some clear goals and clear plans for particularly batting and to be able to get through the new ball and on the wicket with a bit more bounce it’s going to be crucial to have good plans in place and stick with them the whole way through.”In their efforts to improve on last summer’s poor showing, NSW will be helped by the presence of Australia’s captain Michael Clarke for their opening three fixtures. “Michael’s an unbelievable player and a good person to have around,” Smith said. “If blokes can do well as well he can see that being a selector and it’s always good to put your hand up in front of the Australian captain.”

Questionado sobre a falta de Jadson, o técnico Jair Ventura disse ser injusto fazer qualquer tipo de comparação com o camisa 10. O meia continua em tratamento e não tem presença garantida para o jogo contra o Botafogo, no próximo domingo.

– Seria uma injustiça a gente comparar qualquer jogador ao Jadson. Decisivo, maior número de gols, de assistências, mas mostra a força do grupo. Sem esse 10 clássico, ele é esse cara, nós colocamos o Pedrinho numa função que ele vinha fazendo na base. Claro que são características diferentes, ele não é do último passe. Mas isso mostra que mesmo sem um excelente jogador como o Jadson, o grupo conseguiu vencer. Torcemos para ele recuperar e voltar contra o Botafogo – disse Jair.

Nenê perdeu um pênalti e saiu vaiado pela torcida, que chamou o time de “amarelão” após o apito final, pediu “muito respeito com a camisa tricolor”.

O São Paulo segue em quinto, com a mesma pontuação do Grêmio (63), mas uma vitória a menos. Terá de vencer a Chape na última rodada, fora de casa, e torcer por um tropeço dos gaúchos diante do Corinthians, em Porto Alegre, para ir direto à fase de grupos da Libertadores.

O Sport está na zona da degola, com 39 pontos, e precisa vencer o Santos, em Pernambuco, além de torcer por tropeços de seus concorrentes diretos para seguir na elite nacional.

Ataque contra defesa
O São Paulo foi um time mais leve com Araruna e Liziero nos lugares de Bruno Peres e Hudson, vetados pelos médicos. O Tricolor se apoderou da bola e fez com que o jogo fosse todo disputado no campo do Sport. As chances apareciam, mas faltava aquele “pequeno” detalhe: o gol.

Foram quatro ou cinco oportunidades boas no primeiro tempo, a melhor delas nos pés de Reinaldo, que a desperdiçou ao optar por simular um pênalti que não aconteceu. Nenê também levou perigo, sobretudo em um chute de fora da área que passou perto e em uma bomba que Maílson defendeu no início da etapa final, após passe de peito de Everton e linda deixada de calcanhar de Liziero.

A angústia parecia prestes a terminar quando André Luiz de Freitas Castro assinalou pênalti discutível de Claudio Winck sobre Everton aos 27 minutos do segundo tempo – o mesmo Winck fez um pênalti sobre Diego Souza no primeiro tempo, mas este a arbitragem não viu. A cobrança de Nenê, no entanto, foi muito ruim. O goleiro Maílson defendeu e fez com que alguns torcedores passassem a vaiar o camisa 10, embora ele não estivesse mal na partida. As vaias foram ainda maiores quando Tréllez entrou em seu lugar, aos 37.

Tréllez quase virou herói aos 45 minutos, quando acertou a trave em um cabeceio. O Sport já tinha um a menos, já que Claudio Winck – sempre ele – foi expulso pouco antes por acertar cotovelada em Liziero. A pressão seguiu até o fim, mas o gol…

While the visiting Englishmen played their third warm-up game of the India tour in Ahmedabad, India’s Test side eased into its three-day preparatory camp for the upcoming series with a short practice session at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in south Mumbai. All members of the squad, barring Harbhajan Singh, whose flight was delayed, arrived at the CCI in the afternoon, along with coach Duncan Fletcher, and batted and bowled for a little more than an hour after a short game of football. With the World Twenty20 and Champions League T20 having consumed most of September and October, this was the first outing for India’s Test side in nine weeks, the first after the New Zealand series at home.The fitness of Zaheer Khan, who had lasted all of 13.3 overs on India’s tour of England last year, was again in focus. Zaheer had pulled up sore, pointing towards his groin, on the third day of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy opener against Railways last week, and had walked off the field. He didn’t bowl or field on the fourth and final day, but Mumbai captain Ajit Agarkar had said Zaheer’s problem was just cramp. Today, while the other quick bowlers in the India squad, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma, bowled through the mini-session, Zaheer spent the majority of his time on the massage table. He eventually did bowl for a while but was clearly not extending himself. On the other hand, Ishant and Umesh, especially, bowled with pace and rhythm.The batsmen took to the nets as per the batting order in batches of four, with Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Cheteshwar Pujara and Sachin Tendulkar starting off. Pujara looked in fine touch, defending and attacking confidently, though the bowling was below par at times. With various age-group matches going on in Mumbai at the moment, it was difficult to assemble decent young net bowlers. Two of those bowlers, though, managed to hit Tendulkar’s stumps once each with the batsman appearing a touch tentative. Tendulkar did loft R Ashwin crisply a few times and soon left the nets to receive a few throwdowns.Next in were Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni. Gambhir and M Vijay, the reserve opener, continued to bat into the fading light after the rest were done. After Gambhir walked off eventually, Vijay hit a few more for a while against the local spinners and was the last player to leave the nets. The squad will have a full training session tomorrow.
