O Corinthians encarou a sexta eliminação em sua Arena após a derrota nos pênaltis para o Internacional, na quarta fase da Copa do Brasil. O baque, porém, não afetar o temporada segundo os jogadores da equipe.

Já o zagueiro paraguaio acredita que o time não merecia ter sido eliminado pela atuação que teve na Arena. Ele também reforçou o discurso do companheiro sobre olhar para frente.

وأكدت تقارير صحفية أمس أن نادي ليفربول لم يوافق على عرض بايرن ميونخ المذكور، بسبب انخفاض القيمة المالية.

وذكرت صحيفة “ميرور” الإنجليزية، نقلًا عن “Sport 1” الألمانية، أن بايرن ميونخ ينوي تقديم عرضًا ثانيًا لليفربول من أجل حسم صفقة ساديو ماني.

يُزعم أنه على الرغم من الرفض الأولي، يتوقع الطرفان التوصل إلى اتفاق وهناك آمال كبيرة لدى بايرن في أن يفي عرضهم الثاني بمطالب ليفربول.

Mozambique withdrew their application.A further three countries from the Europe region – Bulgaria, Estonia and Turkey – were granted Affiliate status, taking the ICC’s total member count to 104.The decision to promote Guernsey to Associate status comes only three years after they were granted Affiliate membership. One senior ICC member praised their facilities as being among the best of any Associate, with a vibrant club and coaching structure in place.In 2007 Guernsey won the ICC European Under-15 Division 2 Championship beating nine other European Associate and Affiliate members, and finished second and third in the European U-19 Division 2 and U-23 Division 2 respectively.Commenting on the news, Richard Holdsworth, the ICC’s regional development manager, said: “Cricket is a well established sport in Guernsey and it is fitting that after only three years of ICC Affiliate membership that the country has been promoted to an Associate member. The infrastructure on the island has developed well in recent years with good support of local sponsors and government organisations. Their excellent facilities including grass pitches and a new indoor cricket centre will help them to further develop at International level.”

Just Joe football show host Joe Wainman believes that having Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison down the left-side is going to be frightening!

Harrison made his move to Elland Road permanent this summer after previous loan spells with Leeds and the Whites also completed the signing of left-back Junior Firpo from FC Barcelona.

Firpo featured 18 times for Barcelona in all competitions last season, whilst Harrison featured in 38 matches for Leeds in all competitions.

The duo will be frightening according Wainman, who told Football FanCast: “Junior Firpo is really exciting, I know it didn’t work out for him at Barcelona but when you’ve got Jordi Alba ahead of you it’s always going to be tough.

“We’ve paid next to nothing for him in terms of what his projections could be and look, once Bielsa has worked his magic, I think Junior Firpo from that left-back position, him and Jack Harrison this season it’ll be frightening, it’s going to be frightening!

“I see a lot of goals coming from that left hand side and I think Junior Firpo will get involved and he’ll get quite a lot of assists as well.”

Marcelo Bielsa has looked to strengthen his Leeds side this summer and provide competition for places in his starting XI, signing both Lewis Bate and Kristoffer Klaesson alongside Junior Firpo and Jack Harrison.

The White enjoyed a successful first season back in the Premier League finishing ninth on 59 points and ended the season in good form winning their last four matches, conceding just two goals in the process.

Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping to take that form into the new season and hit the ground running early and look to improve on last points tally and final position.

Gibbs plays for the Cape Town-based Cobras, but might be available for the Titans, the franchise in Pretoria, under a plan proposed by Norman Arendse, chief executive of Cricket South Africa (CSA).Arendse said players from other franchises might be included in the franchises representing South Africa, Supersport reported, as quite a few regulars from South Africa’s Test squad would miss the league due to conflicting schedules. The tournament was scheduled to be held between September 29 and October 8, but its proximity to the Champions Trophy in Pakistan had prompted the ICC to ask the founding boards – CSA, BCCI and Cricket Australia – to reconsider the dates.It’s likely the league will now take place in December, but that could result in South Africa’s players missing out. South Africa are to tour Australia later this year, and their first game against Western Australia, begins on December 6.By virtue of being the finalists in th Africa’s domestic Pro20 competition, the Titans and Dolphins, from KwaZulu-Natal, have qualified for the Twenty20 league, joining Rajastan Royals and Chennai Super Kings from India, Western Australia and Victoria from Australia, Middlesex from England and the Sialkot Stallions from Pakistan. Premier League champions Manchester City have been linked with a shock summer move for rumoured Sheffield Wednesday transfer target Kyle Hudlin.

One player who hasn’t joined yet but has been linked with a move to Hillsborough in recent months is Hudlin, who is a remarkable 6 foot 9 tall and has scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for National League side Solihull Moors.

A surprise update has now emerged, with The Athletic claiming that Manchester City are considering signing the striker, who has been reported as ‘the tallest outfield professional player in Britain’.

The Premier League giants have sent representatives to watch Hudlin in action, with Middlesbrough and Cardiff City also mentioned as possible suitors.

The Verdict: Surely not?

It remains to be seen whether Wednesday’s prior interest in Hudlin remains strong, but it would be a huge shock if he went to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side are known for their huge spending and are keen on signing Harry Kane from Tottenham, who as England captain and a renowned Premier League goalscorer is a few levels above Hudlin, with the greatest of respect to the Solihull Moors marksman.

At 21, he does represent an exciting young prospect, though, and he could be a very useful option for Wednesday, given his extraordinary height and proven scoring ability. Perhaps the Owls remain more realistic candidates than Man City despite the Premier League champions’ apparent interest.

Um dos poucos zagueiros do elenco do Vasco, Jomar será titular da equipe na partida contra o Palmeiras, neste domingo, na estreia do Campeonato Brasileiro. Enquanto o clube se mexe para reforçar a zaga, o jovem defensor esperar aproveitar a chance e mostrar que tem condições de ficar no time.

– Estou trabalhando duro para ser titular. Agora vou ter a oportunidade de jogar. Quero dar o melhor de mim e dar alegria para a torcida. Ela merece um Brasileirão muito bom esse ano – disse Jomar em coletiva após o treino desta terça-feira.

Neste período sem jogos, o técnico Milton Mendes implementou um novo esquema tático, o 3-6-1. Ele foi testado nos jogos-treino contra oSampaio Corrêa-RJ, Bangu e Audax e deve ser usado contra o Palmeiras. Jomar pediu paciência com a nova formação, mas acredita que vai dar certo. Segundo ele, o esquema com três zagueiros é inspirada no Chelsea, que está perto de ser campeão inglês.

-Três zagueiros aqui no Vasco a gente nunca jogou, temos que ter um pouco de paciência, mas vai ser bom. O Milton tem treinado bastante essas semanas que a gente teve . Vamos nos agarrar ao máximo nas instruções do Milton para ter sucesso, assim como o Chelsea teve como esse esquema – comentou o defensor, destacando o que muda com o novo esquema.

– Muda muita coisa. Os dois laterais vão muito à frente. Tem a oportunidade de eu e Jean puxar mais como volante. Fizemos muito isso nos jogos-treinos. Com o tempo nós vamos nos adaptando a esse esquema – completou.

Jomar não se incomoda com a busca do Cruz-Maltino por zagueiros. Segundo ele, o elenco está precisando de opções para o setor e lembra que Julio dos Santos e Jean estão sendo até improvisados. Ele elogiou a possível chegada de Anderson Martins.

-O Júlio e até o Jean têm treinado de zagueiro. Será importante a chegada de mais zagueiros. vai ser uma disputa sadia e creio que posso ser titular, agarrar essa oportunidade.O Anderson Martins vindo vai ajudar bastante a gente. Já tive a oportunidade de treinar com ele. É um jogador muito técnico. Ele vindo, vai nos ajudar muito no Brasileirão.

No momento, o Vasco conta apenas com Rafael Marques e Jomar para a zaga. O jovem Ricardo, de 19 anos, deve ser promovido para o Brasileirão. Além disso, o Cruz-Maltino busca no mercado duas contratações para o setor: Anderson Martins está bem encaminhado e Xandão aparece como outra opção.
